Football, Miley, Duck Dynasty and the Olympics

Football season is winding down, but come February Olympic Curling arrives, that should get my tired old blood moving again. Beautiful winter day here today, sweatshirt weather,  played golf, went for a nice walk, looks like tomorrow the wind comes up and it will be an, in the house day.

Have you ever noticed that when something is in the news, the news people will not let it go? Finally I give up reading as I reach the, who cares level. And then the news brings it up again, boring.

And at last, does everyone have to predict what will happen next year? Well, Yes!

Here is my list, five things happening in 2014

1.       Health Care will be in the news

2.       Miley will be in the news

3.       Duck Dynasty will be in the news

4.       Super Bowl will be a sleeper – again. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

5.       We will all, once again, be experts on ice skating and ski jumping during the Winter Olympics

6.       BONUS – Some Americans will learn the name of our Vice President.

Pro Sports - Tooooo Long

The Super Bowl is over, and so is football season. A season that now starts in late July and ends in early February. Eight months for something that once held our interest for September, October and November. Seems to me both football and basketball have stretched their seasons too long. Baseball always has been too long. I love watching sports, but after a couple of months am ready for the next season, not more of the same.

Maybe I will start watching more situation comedies and movies, ahh, maybe not.

Oh – and Congratulations Raven’s

The Fiscal Cliff and a Four Point Shot

Looks like the fiscal cliff falling has only been delayed, not avoided. I ordered a parachute today, when they push me and my $300 savings off the cliff, I’m pulling the cord.

After last night’s Fiesta Bowl I have renewed hope for the government saving us from the dread cliff. If Oregon, or anyone else for that matter, can score a one point safety, anything is possible.

*What’s next-a four point shot in BB or a zero on the scorecard in Golf

Me and the NFL Draft

Well the NFL Draft is over for another year. Another year of me setting by the phone waiting for the call so that I can get my NFL career going, but once again, no call.
My last year of playing college football was--now let me think about it for a few minutes--was -- 42 years ago. Do you think they are not going to call?

Lots of Stuff on a Cold Day

Thoughts from a wandering mind on a cold day
We have so much snow in Wyoming this winter the government is thinking about turning the globe sideways and call us the North Pole.
Looks like football season is almost over—for the non-fans—finally over
Another BCS game for another mythical championship
Another round of pro play-offs to see if the oldest man in America can take his Vikings to a championship
Can’t wait for Baseball season—not really a fan but baseball brings warm weather.
Global warming is still avoiding Wyoming, many days below zero in December and it is never our coldest month
I am still working on my retirement plans—need to figure a way to come up with another $5,000 a month and I’m out of here
Rumor mill says the economy is on the rebound, some think the government is getting us out of the recession, others think the government got us there in the first place
