I Wanna be a Weather Man--Maybe Not
I have decided that when I grow up I want to be a weather man. We were in a blizzard warning yesterday, winds to 50 MPH and a foot or more of snow was coming, or so the experts said. So what happened ****30 MPH winds and two inches of snow. They can be wrong every day and keep their jobs. I could do that--I really want to be a weather man, Never mind, I am wrong some of the time (actually most of the time) and I still have a job. But it has nothing to do with the weather.

The weathermen get the weather news from the national weather system and put their own spin on it.
Hello,
Was pointed your way by garnett109. The weather is one of my hobbies, living in the Western Isles of Scotland where no two days, let alone two hours, have the same weather. Forecasters never get it right for this nook of the country.

Here in central Texas, we don't get a lot of variety in the weather. We're in an exceptional drought right now though. If there's even a hint of rain in the forecast, the weather people can talk about it for 20 mins or the 30 min broadcast. If it's a chance of big rains or hail, they can go on and on for an hour or more with weather alerts and colorful maps.
